The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three peaks of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 meters (10,052ft) – twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar walking distance. Scafell Pike, in England (978m)
Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1345m)
It starts with a drive to Fort William and the start of Ben Nevis at 5pm on the Saturday. We come back down in sun set about 10pm. The drive is across to Scarfell Pike next and the climb starts at sunrise Sunday at 4am and is completed at around 8am when we set off to Snowden where we start around 1pm and complete at teatime on the Sunday!
